It's unusual to be involved in a scheme to remove the full external façade of a Central Manchester building that was constructed less than 15 years ago, but this was the client's requirement. Along with three new floors to a building surrounded by a canal, a live hotel, a main artery road into central Manchester, and busy public homes, this resulted in K2 Scaffolds erecting a multi-use scaffold to allow for the removal of the external fabric of the building, along with the 2.5m wide existing roof eaves directly over a busy main road. The scaffold was erected on schedule and without the need for any road closures. This allowed the main contractor to complete the works on time and without delay.
